VISIT TO ENGHIEN
For those who don’t know about it, we have enjoyed an ecumenical twinning for 30 years with the parish of St.Joseph, Enghien les Bains, a suburb of Paris. This year it is our turn to visit them and we now have confirmation of the dates we are invited – Friday 4th – Monday 7th May which is the early May bank holiday.
We will travel by Eurostar which allows flexibility for those who wish to join the main party leaving London at about noon on Friday and returning about midday on the Monday, and for those for whom it is more convenient to travel at a different time. The Eurostar arrives in the Gare du Nord in Paris and it is a short walk across the station to reach the train to Enghein.
There are forms in the church porch to complete if you are interested in joining the party. The sooner we have an idea of numbers the sooner we can book the train tickets before the price rises further. If you would like to know more please contact Doris Neville-Davies on 01932 242785.
Prayer is not merely expressing our present desires. Its purpose is to exercise and train our desires, so that we want what he is getting ready to give us. His gift is very great, an we are small vessels for receiving it. So prayer involves widening ur hearts to God. Augustine of Hippo.
