Baptism and Christening at St. Nicholas

Enquiries about baptism can be made at the Church Vestry Hour on Monday evenings between 6.30pm - 7.30pm

We have a small team of baptism visitors made up from members of the congregation.
Once you have booked the date and time of the baptism on a Monday evening, one of the team will visit you at home to talk through the service with you, both the promisies you are making and the practicalities of the day itself.

Where possible your baptism visitor will meet up with you at the group preparation meeting and at the actual service to be part of this special day

A prayer of thanks for our children, and for Holy Baptism.

God our Creator, we thank you for the wonder of new life and for the mystery of human love. We give you thanks for all whose support and skill surround and sustain the beginning of life. As Jesus knew love and discipline within a human family may these children grow in strength and wisdom. As Mary knew the joys and pains of motherhood, give these parents your sustaining grace and love, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
